Due to the absurdities of government policies, many schools here in the UK have had to rebrand themselves as “sports colleges” or “arts colleges” in order to receive state funding. But what this means in reality for the teachers is that there is an increased number of sexy students in attendance at the affected schools. Arty types go to arts colleges, and sporty types to sports colleges. Which meant that Mr Davies had to think of a damn good excuse to tell his wife about why he was leaving for work at the crack of dawn, to watch Natasha the diving champion practice in the pool before class. Natasha’s family had migrated from Eastern Europe to find her better facilities. She was already a regional champion and big things were expected of her.
